[NEWS] Political Leader from Across Various Thoughts in Gilgit-Baltistan Mulling for Protest

Political leaders belonging to various political views and thoughts came together with one voice on the issue of demanding fundamental human rights and political autonomy of Gilgit-Baltistan. The leaders including Raja Karamat-ullah Khushwaqt, candidate for District Council Yaseen; Haji Muhammad Javed, chairman Shinakistan Qumi party; Inyat-ullah shumali, Gilgit-Baltistan National Alliance; Atta-ullah Shahab, Amir Jamiat-ulma-e-Islam Gilgit-Baltistan;  Jamil Ahmed candidate for NALA ,Halqa 2; Dr Muzafar Relay, Member and central leader PML (q) Gilgit-Baltistan; Habib-ur Rahman, General Secretary, District NGOs network Diamer; and Haleem Fiyazi, Diamer Writers forum gathered at the Iftar Party to chalk out strategy to protest against the recent ‘ghost package’ for Gilgit-Baltistan. They have rejected the package as an ‘eye wash’ without genuinely transferring the powers to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan.

They also condemned selection of the Federal Minster for KANA, Qamar uzzaman Kaira as Governor and termed it a vicious approach to suppress the rights of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan. It is ever in the first time in the history that a Federal Minister has been appointed as a governor, who has been rejected by the people of Gilgit-Baltistan time and again.

 They have also condemned impositions of 144 in Gilgit city as an oppressive tool by the administration to curb the current wave of protest against the package and demands for self-governance and autonomy of Gilgit-Baltistan.
